Let's Celebrate!

Hi! Congratulations on your engagement, and thanks for stopping by.

My Beliefs:
I believe that all people should be able to marry the person with whom they want to build a home and family unit. I believe all people should have the right to have the ceremony in a church or on a beach or anywhere in between. I believe the entire process should be about love, hope, faith, support, friendship, family and celebration. I believe no one should miss out on celebrating love because the church they grew up in won't allow it or because they can't find someone to legally officiate the celebration.

That's why I became an officially ordained minister with the certification and legal authorization to officiate religious and non religious ceremonies for straight and gay couples throughout the U.S.!!!

I was ordained by the American Marriage Ministries, a non denominational non profit with the mission of ensuring all people have the ability to exercise their right to solemnize marriage. They believe -- as do I -- choosing a life partner and choosing someone to bless that union is an inalienable right we all have.

Hi. I was born in Kalamazoo, MI, in 1969, and in 4th grade my mother Joyce, sister Wendi and I moved to Wichita, KS. I grew up in a loving home with Mom -- a single parent -- and my sister with whom I've always been very close. When we moved to Wichita, my mom said we could pick the church that we all wanted to go to so we experienced almost every kind of Protestant church around -- from Baptist (I loved the choir) to Episcopalian to Presbyterian. We picked Covenant Presbyterian, a start-up church that met in a local school gymnasium for the first year we were members. Church always felt more like a social event than it did something we HAD to go to because Mom said so. I grew up with the idea of a very loving, forgiving God -- one who you could question without fearing fire and brimstone.

I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Journalism/Business Communications with concentrations in Math, Psychology and History in 1992. That same year I came out to all of my friends and family.

In 1996, my partner of eight years was transferred to Los Angeles and I lived there for almost 20 years. My love for everything pop culture, entertainment and music was put to good use as my career prospered in Brand Marketing and Entertainment PR. From 2001-2007 I was Vice President of Communications & Media Relations for The Recording Academy (producers of the annual GRAMMY Awards telecast) after which I started my own brand marketing and entertainment PR consultancy Enfluence Group.

A few months ago, I met a fascinating woman on an airplane who asked me what my role was in changing the world for the better. I was shocked by such a heavy question from a stranger but the answer came to me immediately: to remind people how important it is to 1) stay connected as human beings and 2) rediscover inspiration and creativity in each of us. After almost 20 years in the fast-paced world of Hollywood, I decided it was time for a new chapter and for me to get back to my roots. So, in March 2015, I moved back to the midwest. I'm focusing on public speaking, teaching, my artwork, publishing my children's books that I've been working on for 15 years, and helping human beings reconnect. To me, there isn't a better way to do that than right at the start of a couple's "official" life together. Officiating marriage ceremonies helps me fulfill one of my missions in trying to change the world for the better.
